The Head of IMF Defends the Greenbacks

The Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mr. Dominique Strauss-Kahn does not meet the indispensability to change world alternate currency. It has been declared at the press conference in National Press Club  in Washington.

« In the present conditions the majority of people continues to look at economy of the USA with optimism », — the head of IMF has noted. « I do not see any reasons why the dollar can no longer be the world alternate currency in the future », — has told Strauss-Kahn. « There are many signs which allow to consider, that after termination of crisis position of the American dollar will be kept at the present level », — he has noted.

« If a question about dollar future has been asked recently, the majority of people would tell about its inevitable crash », — the head of IMF has noticed. « However the dollar exchange ratio dollar per euro today is higher level, than even one year ago », — he has emphasized and added: « I consider dollar is not the worst choice for economic ».

Mr. Strauss-Kahn has also declared, that restoration of economic after the current crisis strongly depends on actions, which countries are undertaking now.

He has assumed that « free falling of the world economy, probably, starts to reduce turns », and has not excluded that restoration would begin in 2010. However, according to the head of IMF, « it substantially depends on correctness of actions which are undertaken now ». Having recognized, that « decisions differ in the given country », he has specified the necessity of " the consecutive and coordinated response of the world community ».

Thus the year 2009 Mr. Strauss-Kahn has named "awful", having added, that « it is a really global crisis, to avoid which it is not possible to anybody ».

The head of IMF has noted the importance of stabilization in financial sector. « This is indispensable condition if we wish to achieve that the economic began to develop again. While it is not reached, attempts to restore demand would hardly be distinct », — he has told.

Also Mr. Strauss-Kahn has declared an indispensability « to realize tax spurs ». Cooperation on the given aspect he has  named "unprecedented", but has emphasized the  importance of « progresses of the given subjects in 2010 ». Also the head of IMF has appealed for « urgent actions on financial front ». In particular, as he said, it concerns « the developing economies in order  to help them to meet crisis ».
