Kudrin is expecting the fall of the GDP of the Russian Federation less than 7% in the first quarter

The fall of the GDP of Russia in the first quarter of 2009 will amount to less than 7%. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister – the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin.

It’s worth reminding that the GDP of Russia decreased in January – February by less than 8%, particularly in February  - by 7,3%. These data were published by the Ministry of Economic Development.

“The negative trends of the end of 2008, which were formed under the influence of the world financial crisis continued in January – February of the current year. According to the Ministry of Economic Development estimates, the GDP decreased in January – February by 8%. With the exclusion of the seasonal and calendar factor the rates of decline to the previous month has decelerated in February (-0,8),  compared to January (-2,4%)” , was said in the monthly operational report monitoring.

Kudrin also reported that the decline in gas output in the current year will amount to 20%, as well as the traffic volume decline.

Moreover the Deputy Prime Minister added that “we are in the reappraisal stage” and the data on additional decline in manufacturing programmes can appear.
