Air Carriers Will Be Granted for 5 Billion Roubles

The prime minister of the Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin has signed the resolution about grants to air carriers in 2009  as he informed, opening session of presidium of the government.

As the vice-premier Mr. Sergey Ivanov has explained, total amount of the means allocated for granting, is 5 billion roubles, administered by ROSAVIATION.
Mr. Ivanov elucidated, that these means would be used in cases if airlines could not carry out of the obligations to passengers. In that case other airlines could take out the passengers who had bought tickets to airline which did not execute the obligations.

« In fact it does not mean the support of airlines, but support of passengers », — the vice-premier explained, and added, that thus the state would guarantee passengers a flight non-dependent on which Russian airline these passengers had got the ticket of.

From his side, Mr. Putin has charged the profile departments to analyze a financial condition of airlines not to admit failure of obligations before passengers. « It is impossible to allow carriers achieved such a condition when not able to fly », — the prime minister told.

As he said, appropriating demands should be made to air carriers according to their financial status.
