Nazarbaev recommended fellow citizens to pull in their belts
10 апреля 2009 г.
The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev assumes that thanks to the reserves the country goes through the crisis smoother than other countries. He noted that up to now Kazakhstan hasn’t applied for loans either to the International Monetary Fund or the World Bank.
Nevertheless, the President advised the fellow citizen to pull in their belts and “Hummer” owners to change it for minicars. N.Nazarbaev invoked the nation to be modest and assiduous and advised business to be ready for bankruptcy. “The loans should go to people who produce goods…others will turn bankrupt”, the president said. The head of the state gave some advice to people: to save electricity and water, to shift to inexpensive cars and wash the cars taking care of ecology. “People shift to small cars to make parking easier and to lessen the consumption of gasoline. But here people are still driving tractors: the “Hummer”. What impudence!” reported the President and advised the police not to let huge American jeeps in the center.
