Medvedev: the consequences of financial crisis will be overcome in 2009 or in 2010
07 апреля 2009 г.
The president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev believes that the consequences of the world financial crisis will be overcome this year or the next. The head of the state announced this at the meeting with the members of Italian business groups.
According to the head of the state, the results of G-20 summit gave this hope to him.
“Most important is that I didn’t feel pessimism that could weight over this meeting”, he said.
Dmitry Medvedev noted that before the summit he had certain pessimism. “However the final communiqué differs from the Washington declaration: it’s not just a set of principles but definite proposals to resist the world crisis”, he noted.
“I hope that the crisis which is the matter for concern for us all will have a less impact on the Russian-Italian collaboration, thought it will definitely make amendments”, assumes the head of the state.
The President also marked out that the Italian business “is present not only in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg but also in other regions of the Russian Federation”.
“Frankly, it’s more difficult there because of a worse business infrastructure and it’s harder to work on the whole. But we do appreciate the fact that you are not afraid to move headway to the Russian backwoods”, the President emphasized.
“We also appreciate that your contacts don’t come to more that big business but the communication is carried on the levels of medium and small business”, Medvedev said.
The head of the state reported that the Russian-Italian turnover is already exceeding $50 billion and “it’s pleasing that these 50 billion $ were gained not only because of the growth of energy assets but also because of other investments, the growth of turnover in other spheres”.
