Finmeccanica has bought 25% of SCA stock

The Italian aero-space group Finmeccanica has bought blocking shareholding of the Russian manufacturer of regional planes Superjet 100.
Finmeccanica announced that her subsidiary Alenia Aeronautica bought 25% plus 1 stock of Suhoy Civic Airplanes (SCA), which is preparing for serial production of jet planes of regional category Superjet 100.
The company doesn’t give any financial details of the transaction that was announced in spring 2006 for the first time.
Previously SCA reported that it will arrange additional issuing of $183 million in favour of the Italian company.
Currently SCA has 98 offers for new planes, whose delivery start was delayed several times to discontent of the initial customer- Russian “Aeroflot”. The manufacturer promises that the airline will receive the first liners at the end of 2009.
The “Superjet” project implies the production of 800-1000 planes that according to SCA will be mainly oriented to international markets.
Finmeccanica also reported without dwelling on details that it reached an agreement about creating a consortium with Russian government corporation RosTechnology for cooperation in security sphere.
